Group 2: Trouble at Polk Middle School

Your group is called in the wake of several incidents of interracial strife between Blacks and Latinos at James K. Polk High School. You are responsible for designing a new history and social sciences curriculum that reflects the demographic of the school. You need something visually appealing, intellectually rigorous, and a curriculum that middle-school kids will fall in love with. If you think turning kids on to education is impossible, remember: in the 1960s, Black and Latino youths protested for the right to hear more lectures, read more books, and take more classes in history and politics. Time to get busy!
